Am 4. Januar, auf der Suche nach Samtfussrüblingen, passt in 30 Meter Entfernung ein Pilz in den Farbraster. Die übereinander geschichtete Wuchsform fällt aber aus dem Schema – und beim Näherkommen auch die Form an sich. Orangeseitlinge, an Totholz emporwachsend. Spätherbst- und Winterpilze

Die ausserordentlich lange Hitze- und Trockenperiode im Sommer 2018 hat das Pilzwachstum bis in den Winter hinein beeinflusst. Der milde Wintereinbruch ermöglichte vielen Herbstpilzarten, auch noch in der zweiten Dezemberhälfte Fruchtkörper auszubilden. Die kurze Kälteperiode mit Schnee vor Weihnachten gab dann den Startschuss für die Winterpilze, welche danach ideale Wachstumsbedingungen erhielten. Deshalb haben sie an verschiedenen Orten eine beachtliche Grösse erreicht, bevor der erneute Kälteeinbruch sie wieder zu bremsen vermochte.

Tolle Bedingungen

Seit bald einem Monat herrschen tolle Pilzbedingungen im Unterland. Vor allem die Fichtenwälder bringen grosse Mengen von Fruchtkörpern ans Tageslicht. Die Pilz-kontrollstelle läuft zeitweise richtig heiss.
Ausserordentlich waren die zunehmenden Funde des Gemeinen Steinpilzes (Boletus edulis), auch Fichtensteinpilz genannt, der sonst bei uns nur wenig gefunden wird. Meist landet der Sommersteinpilz in unseren Körben, – wenn überhaupt – der vor allem in den Buchenwäldern vorkommt.
Aber auch viele andere Pilzarten treten zurzeit in grossen Mengen auf, manchmal allen voran der Fliegenpilz, der gerne mit dem Steinpilz unterwegs ist und wunderschöne Bilder in den Wald zaubert.
Nun zeigen sich bereits auch die wahren Herbstpilze wie Hallimasch, Nebelkappe, Violetter Rötelritterling, Schopftintling und viele mehr – und alle in grosser Zahl.
Seit rund zwei Jahren mal wieder eine richtige Pilzschwemme! Sie sind also noch da, nach den vielen trockenen Monaten und dem problematische Frost im Frühling – und sie reagieren auf die schwierigen Bedingungen auf ihre Art und Weise. Nicht umsonst bevölkern sie die Erde schon seit mindestens 450 Millionen Jahren und sorgen dabei für gute Lebensbedingungen unserer Flora und Fauna.
