We are dedicated to helping individuals in early recovery rebuild their lives. Many amazing things have happened to me since February 4, 2008; it was a day that changed my life forever. Today I am a father of two amazing boys, Ricky and Carson, whom I want to set a great example for. We offer employement opportunities (and provide transporation) through relationships with surrounding businesses–regardless of background.

In life, every story has an ending; but every ending has a
I moved into a sober house that had a culture of recovery and lived there for 18 months. Afterwards I went back to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor. Our Christ-centered program attends Revive Church on Sundays where NBR volunteers extensively, and also takes part in multiple Celebrate Recovery services weekly. Our plan builds upon the success of our current programming through scaling the model into additional areas and populations. If you are struggling to break free from drug or alcohol addiction, New Beginnings is here to help. „Showing our clients that recovery is more than just sitting in meetings is important to us. We teach our men how to bridge the gap between sobriety and their newfound lives in recovery by having events and taking them on retreats.“
The goal of all programming is to be Self-Supportive & Relish in Sobriety and Recovery. Recovery journey is never easy, we are here to help in any possible way. Having a stable job, having stable financial situation and helping us get back on track and building for future really helps.
OUR plan
The job coach of our partner agency comes to coach any guests that are looking for jobs. February 4, 2008, I made a call to a drug dealer; I was hopeless and wanted to die. To assist those who are recovering from substance use disorder and addictive behavior by helping them overcome obstacles that would hinder them from being productive members of society. As New Life House House we believe in family, and we make the promise to anyone who comes to us that you are family when you come to one of our houses.
We partner with local pharmacy to provide a better meds management for our guest. They will deliver and sort it on a bubble pack for better medicine management weekly and help our guests track their medication. Engaging in service work brings a sense of purpose, personal growth, and builds relationships. It fosters empathy, makes a positive impact, and improves mental health. Ultimately, it strengthens communities and promotes compassion and altruism. When you move into one of our houses, you’re not just moving into a sober house, you’re moving into a recovery community.
A family systems approach is utilized for our young children and teen clients. Therapists will be assigned based upon the unique needs of each client and the expertise of the counselor. Our goal is to help our clients restore personal well-being, relationship vitality, and workplace or school effectiveness. New Beginnings offers outpatient therapy for individuals seeking help in dealing with the struggles and stressors in their everyday life.
Despite increased federal funding for opioid-specific supports in recent years, the state of Illinois has seen an New Life House Review increased 16.2% in overdoses since 2020 according to the CDC. More so, both Cook and Kane Counties experienced an increase of DUI arrests since 2017 (7.3% increase in Cook and 15.8% in Kane). Now more than ever, there is a need for responsive programming, and funding to do build these programs.
